Maria Van Sant is a board certified Speech and Language Pathologist.  She received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Communication Disorders with her Masters of Arts in Speech Pathology from the University of Central Florida.  

Maria has been working with a variety of populations for over 20 years.  She started her career at Advent Health in the rehabilitation department and pediatric outpatient clinic.  She has since worked in several different locations including Los Angeles school district, Cedar Sinai Hospital and private practice. She enjoys working with individuals, families and in groups. She enjoys leading social skills groups for children from age 5yo to 18yo. 


Maria has recently received additional certification in ADHD and is in the process of obtaining her ADHD parent coaching certification through the ICF (International Coaching Federation). She is passionate about helping families thrive in the context of neurodiversity in the family. 


Maria is fully bilingual and able to conduct evaluations and treatment in both Spanish and English.  Her therapy approach is play based and family focused.  She has experience working individually with children and in groups.

Maria's areas of expertise include:

Speech Disorders/Disturbances-difficulties with pronouncing sounds

Receptive Language-understanding and auditory processing

Expressive Language- difficulties with communicating wants and needs or using age appropriate vocabulary

Oral Motor/Feeding-difficulties with range of motion, coordination and strength of muscles needed for speech or feeding.  Difficulties tolerating foods.

Pragmatics/Social communication-non-verbal areas of language used to communicate socially.
